From July 14th to 21st, 2019, led by Vice Chairman Sun Guanghui, delegation from Guangzhou Maritime University (GMU) visited University of Crete, University of Piraeus, Greece, University of Pisa,
Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy. The purpose of this visit is to discuss the exchange of teachers and students, disciplines and specialties construction, talents cultivation and training, mutual visit and further study of teachers, academic exchange and scientific research cooperation, and to negotiate the memorandum of inter-school cooperation with relevant institutions, expecting to reach the intention of cooperation and further specific operation.
The visit has yielded fruitful results, reached preliminary cooperation intentions with University of Crete and University of Pisa, initially drafted an inter-school cooperation agreement with University of Piraeus, conducted in-depth exchanges with University of Padova in terms of teacher visits and reached an agreement on visiting scholars. It is of great significance to learn from the useful experience of foreign universities in personnel training, teaching practice, scientific research, etc., to further improve the quality of professional personnel training and scientific research level in GMU, to expand the perspective of teachers' research, and to improve teachers' professional quality and scientific research ability.
