School of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management

I. Overview

The School of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management has a history of 45 years. Initially, it was called as Guangzhou Navigation Engineering School, which was born in 1975, with the approval of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China. In 2002, it was merged into Guangzhou Maritime Technical College as an isolated faculty named as the School of Aviation Engineering. In 2013, the college was upgraded to a formal university. The School of Aviation Engineering was officially renamed to the School of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management in July 2021. For the past 45 years, it has trained a large number of professionals in civil engineering and transportation engineering for the country, especially in South China. The School of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management, as one of the backbone colleges of Guangzhou Jiaotong University planned for the future, will closely focus on the development needs of the construction of a modern transportation system in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The college has four undergraduate majors: Port and Waterway and Coastal Engineering, Engineering Management, Civil Engineering and Road Bridge and River Crossing Engineering, covering two disciplines which are Engineering and Management. Particularly, engineering management and port, waterway and coastal engineering are currently a provincial-level characteristic construction majors and civil engineering is designated as a school-level key major. There are 8 laboratories including one provincial engineering research center and 16 off-campus practice bases, which can meet the current teaching and research needs.
